Austin's Fancy Shots

I gave Austin a bath today and took him for a walk around the block to let him dry. I brought my camera with me and its a good thing I did because my friend and neighbor, Mary, saw us and came outside. Her little stallion was grazing in the front portion of her backyard and he and Austin saw each other and acted all studdy. So she volunteered to hold him for me so I could take some pictures while he was spunky. Here they are:

Hay Day!

Now that Destiny, my sister's bratty appaloosa mare, has gone back to mom's house, the boys can hang out together. After irrigation and being locked up for a week, the boys were happy to be let out and into the dog's yard to eat the real tall grass.

Helping Bijou

I decided that I should help B out a little. He has very sensitive eyes so he always has to wear a flymask. He was so wooly his facial hairs would rub off underneath his mask and get into his eyes. So, I decided to shave his face, as well as a bridal path, that way his mask would fit better. He's a pretty cool color. I also filed the front of his hooves to help reshape them back to how they should be.

Meet Bijou

Ok, I'm a little behind with my blog, so I figured I'd update you. Austin was feeling a little restless and disappointed that he was the only little guy around and word got to me that someone was giving away a free mini to a good home. After some persuasion from my mom, I called the lady and long story short, Austin got his buddy. Bijou, or B as I called him, is 15 a year old, very hairy class B mini, and has foundered in the past.

Austin turned five today! I can't believe I've had him for almost four years now! He has grown and matured a lot, yet he is still the same old Austin. I gave him a bath and took pictures for his permanent registration papers for AMHA. Anyhow, here is a look at Austin when I first got him...
